Enjoy as part of the Moana Auckland Festival

Scheduled from March 6-9, 2025, the show takes place during the region’s stunning summer weather and serves as a key highlight of Moana Auckland, New Zealand’s Ocean Festival. The event allows visitors to experience the excitement of nearly 400 boats, both on land and on the water, with many opportunities for sea trials on the picturesque Waitematā Harbour. It’s a perfect chance to witness firsthand how the latest vessels perform in their natural element—whether you’re considering a new purchase or simply enjoying the thrill of testing them out on the water.

Exhibitors

A major drawcard of the show is the diverse range of exhibitors from across New Zealand and around the world. Local boatbuilders and international brands alike will showcase their newest designs, with a particularly strong representation of New Zealand’s innovative marine sector. From trailer boats and RIBs to luxury yachts and superyachts, there will be something for every marine enthusiast.

Notably, the Auckland Boat Show will feature world-leading marine innovation with the inclusion of New Zealand-designed and internationally renowned vessels. One of the standout exhibitors is Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders, known for crafting the Catalyst boats used by Alinghi and INEOS. At the show, they will showcase these iconic vessels, giving visitors the chance to explore what makes them special. Similarly, Auckland-based Rayglass, which provided the official Protector vessels during the America’s Cup, will present their vessels to the public, allowing show-goers to get an up-close look at these cutting-edge, versatile boats.

What makes the Auckland Boat Show particularly appealing is its ability to cater to a wide range of interests. Visitors can explore everything from small, practical boats for fishing and diving, to large, luxurious motor and sail yachts that offer the pinnacle of marine craftsmanship. Additionally, the show boasts an extensive range of marine products and services, with exhibitors like marine engine suppliers, electronics brands, and safety equipment providers ready to demonstrate their offerings.

With New Zealand being a global leader in boating innovation, the Auckland Boat Show serves as a platform to showcase some of the latest technologies in marine sustainability, speed, and safety. The event is perfectly timed, running just after the NZ Millennium Cup superyacht regatta in February, and allowing visitors to experience a full range of activities on the water.

“This is an exciting time for New Zealand’s marine industry,” says event organiser Stacey Cook. “We’ve seen incredible success at global events like the America’s Cup, and now we’re bringing that energy and innovation home. Our goal is to create a show that not only celebrates the best of local boating talent but also brings international brands to the forefront, giving New Zealanders a taste of world-class marine products.”

The Auckland Boat Show is not only a chance to see and experience some of the best boats on the market but also to learn from industry experts. With numerous seminars, demonstrations, and opportunities for interaction with exhibitors, attendees will have plenty to discover, whether they’re learning about the latest in marine technology or getting advice on boat maintenance and safety.

Here’s a glimpse at some of the exhibitors:

Luxury Yachts and Motorboats

For those in the market for premium and high-performance vessels, the luxury yacht segment is well represented by prestigious names such as 36 Degrees Brokers Ltd Marina, which showcases renowned brands like Beneteau, Lagoon, and Maritimo. These companies provide a range of motor and sailing yachts, including new releases that promise cutting-edge design and craftsmanship. Similarly, Grand Banks Yachts brings to the forefront classic luxury motor yachts known for their seaworthiness and elegant design, while Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders offers custom-designed motor yachts like the elite 18m Mid Pilothouse.

These luxury boat specialists are joined by Admiral Boats, which focuses on both motor yachts and trailer powerboats, ensuring there’s a suitable choice for anyone looking to invest in a new or custom-built vessel.

Innovative catamarans and sailing yachts

In the world of catamarans and sailing yachts, exhibitors such as The Yacht Collective and Excess Catamarans have a solid presence with multi-hull designs that balance performance and comfort. Similarly, Beneteau and Lagoon cater to those interested in both performance-oriented and leisure-focused sailing vessels. If you’re looking for something more futuristic, Aerofoils offers an Audi e-tron foil, combining sailing performance with cutting-edge electric propulsion technology.

For traditionalists who prefer the grace of sailing yachts, Maritimo and Beneteau deliver excellent new releases, while Lifestyle Yachts / Dan Leech Naval Architecture continues to impress with their commitment to high-end design in both motor and sailing yachts.

Ribs, tenders, and small craft

The boat show also provides a strong focus on tenders and ribs, which are essential for day trips and exploring shallow waters. Exhibitors such as Offshore Cruising Tenders, Onetenders, and JP Crafts offer an extensive range of durable, high-performance tenders. Extreme Boats, known for their rugged trailer powerboats, offers a solid choice for those seeking reliable, no-nonsense tenders for a variety of activities. Meanwhile, Family Boats offers a diverse lineup of ribs and tenders, including brands like Brig and Assault, ideal for family outings or adventurous watersports.

Accessories, equipment, and electronics

With boating equipment being a key element of the show, many exhibitors focus on accessories and electronic systems. Advance Trident VEC stands out as a provider of high-tech marine electronics, featuring brands like Simrad, Lowrance, and B&G, which are essential for navigation, safety, and performance. Similarly, Battery Town Marine offers high-quality power solutions from brands like Bosch and Varta, ensuring that your boat remains powered up for long voyages.

For those looking to enhance their boat’s performance or style, Aerofoils offers revolutionary foiling technology for boats, while Altex Yacht & Boat Paint provides maintenance solutions with their robust line of coatings. Hutchwilco Group brings marine safety to the forefront with top-tier life jackets and emergency equipment, while Garmin delivers electronics that enhance navigation and communications.

Commercial and refit services

Many exhibitors cater to the commercial sector and maintenance needs. 37South Marina, for example, provides accessories and equipment tailored for commercial boating, while Marsden Cove Marina focuses on both leisure and commercial marine services, offering maintenance and refit solutions. For those interested in boat maintenance and care, Norsand Boatyard / Calibre Sails offers expert refit services, and Marine Protection Solutions brings innovative anti-fouling and coating products to help maintain the performance of your vessel.

In addition, Fiordland Discovery and Ocean Sailing Expeditions offer commercial and expeditions services, allowing enthusiasts to explore New Zealand’s stunning coastline while experiencing the comfort and luxury of expertly managed boating operations.

Education and sustainability

The show also offers a chance to learn more about marine education and sustainability. Mast Academy NZ and New Zealand Superyacht Academy provide educational opportunities in boat building and marine services, while Marine Biosecurity offers valuable information for boat owners concerned with keeping New Zealand’s waters safe from pests. Coastguard Auckland and Legasea – Fish for the People round out the educational component with vital information about safety and sustainable fishing practices.

These exhibitors are helping to drive the conversation around marine sustainability and providing resources for boaties to keep their operations responsible and eco-friendly.

Overall, the 2025 Auckland On Water Boat Show provides a remarkable platform for both established boating brands and newcomers to showcase their products and services. Whether you’re in the market for a luxurious yacht, a high-performance tender, or the latest in boating technology, this year’s exhibitors cover every aspect of the boating world.

Whether you’re there to buy a boat, test out some new gear, or simply immerse yourself in the marine lifestyle, the Auckland Boat Show is a must-visit event for anyone with a passion for the water. So, mark your calendars for March 6-9, 2025, and get ready to experience the best of boating in Auckland—your gateway to the latest innovations and a celebration of New Zealand’s exceptional marine industry.
