ALL-NEW V10 350HP SEAPRO OUTBOARD

Mercury Marine has introduced the 5.7L V10 350hp SeaPro™ outboard. Engineered for commercial applications, this outboard combines the latest innovations and advanced technologies from Mercury’s all-new V10 outboard platform.

The V10 SeaPro outboard features an all-new rugged gearcase with advanced hydrodynamics for control, efficiency and durability. The gearcase is validated at three times the lifespan of recreational gearcases.

Mercury has also launched an advanced Electric Steering system. Instead of hydraulics, the system utilises a compact electric steering actuator, freeing up space in the boat while allowing for cleaner transom rigging.

In addition, it consumes less than half the electrical power as electro-hydraulic steering, leaving more power for running other onboard accessories. The system is compatible with all Mercury V10 and V8 Verado® and SeaPro™ outboards with the Advanced MidSection (AMS), as well as Mercury Racing® 450R and 300R outboards with Racing AMS.

Mercury Electric Steering is available for multi-engine boats with compatible engines in April and will be available for single-engine boats in late 2023.

The V10 SeaPro outboard will be available in the second half of 2023.

The 2022 Mercury Marine Technician of the Year competition returned to pre-covid conditions, with highly skilled technicians from across Australia and New Zealand competing for the crown.

Mercury Verado V10

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), has introduced the industry’s first ever V10 outboard with the official launch of its all-new 5.7L 350 and 400hp Verado® outboard engines.

Consistent with the award-winning Verado brand, the new V10 engines are the quietest and smoothest in their class, running 45 percent quieter than a leading competitor at cruise. In addition to noise vibration harshness (NVH), the new Verados are compatible with the latest Mercury SmartCraft® technologies.

“The all-new Mercury V10 Verado outboards are exactly what boaters have been asking for in a 350 and 400hp platform,” said Chris Drees, Mercury Marine President.

“They are powerful, smooth and quiet. They have many of the same fuel efficiency-enhancing features that are synonymous with our high-horsepower line-up.

“They also deliver the same kind of premium boating experience that has made Verado outboards legendary. The V10 Verado outboards solidify Mercury’s leadership position in the high-horsepower outboard market.”

The V10 Verado outboards leverage many of the same market-leading features and technologies boaters love about the company’s popular V12, V8 and V6 platforms. The new V10 includes premium refinements and versatility for a wide range of applications, from large saltwater centre consoles to single-engine freshwater fishing boats to pontoons and smaller centre-consoles.

Weighing only 316 kilograms and with the same industry-leading 26-inch mount spacing as the V8 outboards, the V10 engines maximise compatibility with current boat designs. This lightweight, compact design provides the performance boaters are looking for and makes them perfect for multi-engine applications or repowering vessels.

Mercury Australia and New Zealand will introduce the new V10 Verado in the region from April 2023.

The full story and pictures of the launch, will appear in Boating NZ's January 2023 edition.

MERCURY V12 TOP PRODUCT AWARD

THE NEW MERCURY 7.6-LITRE V12 600hp Verado – the world’s first V12 outboard – has won another accolade, being recognised by the influential US-based Boating Industry media group in its ‘Top Products of 2021’ listing.

In determining winners of the Top Products designation, the judges gave extra weight to products that have unique features compared to others in their category, create a new product category, or significantly advance an existing category.

“Mercury continues to push the limit of outboard power out on the water and meet trends of larger and larger boats,” said Adam Quandt, managing editor at Boating Industry.

“The innovations on the V12 600hp Verado set a completely new bar for the industry, making it an easy choice for Top Products recognition.”

The new V12 is scheduled to start arriving at Mercury Marine dealers in Australia and New Zealand later this year. It is the highest horsepower outboard ever developed by Mercury Marine and the most powerful outboard engine in production today. www.mercurymarine.com/en-gb/au/v12
