The organisation is transforming the area on the western side of Auckland’s ever-changing cityscape, adjacent to the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge. The new Westhaven Marine Village will form a marine hub that epitomises the ‘city of sails’ lifestyle.

It will be a space where marine businesses can be close to their customers and part of the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest marina – a facility that includes around 2,000 boats, four yacht clubs, and is established as a world-class marine hub.

The 2000m² Village development will accommodate mainly marine-related businesses – chandlers, yacht brokers and marine service operators. A north-facing tenancy has been allocated for a food and beverage offering where an established operator will be able to take advantage of the vista towards Auckland’s city.

Match Realty has been appointed to manage the leasing, led by Mike Hammer and Matt Nola.

The development has been well-received in the market and enquiries from a variety of businesses have already been received. The building’s aesthetic has been developed around a strong maritime and industrial tone, in keeping with the rest of Westhaven Marina.

Features such as glazed shop fronts and high-stud tenancies will be integrated into the building. Extensive landscaping will complement the existing waterfront promenade and create better connectivity for everyday use.

Recently, public and private property investment has scaled significantly through the Auckland CBD. Initiated by the redevelopment of Britomart, we have seen a gravitational pull of investment towards the waterfront. The completion of Commercial Bay, a world-class laneway-style centre opening late 2019, will further enhance the waterfront’s offering.

Wynyard Quarter is experiencing significant growth in both residential and commercial development. Willis Bond has various large-scale residential projects including Wynyard Central, 132 Halsey and 30 Madden St, and Fuh Wah is soon to complete the Park Hyatt Hotel. Precinct Properties is also about to start construction on the Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct.

The Westhaven Marine Village is a vital element of the redevelopment journey being undertaken on Auckland’s waterfront. It is a unique opportunity for marine businesses to make their home in the marina, close to their customers.
