HanseYachts partners with Raymarine
Marine electronics manufacturer Raymarine has signed an OEM supply contract with HanseYachts, the world’s second-largest builder of sailing yachts.
Hanse who manufactures the popular Sealine and Moody Yachts brands are just the latest in a long line of top international boat builders choosing to partner extensively with Raymarine.
Using the recent Cannes Yachting Festival to unveil their new Hanse 410 fast cruiser, Hanse also took the opportunity to showcase Raymarine’s sophisticated new Performance Sailing system.
Combining Raymarine’s new Alpha Series display, Smart Wind Technology and RSW Series Wind sensors, with performance sailing upgrades to the company’s popular LightHouse operating system for Axiom chartplotters, the new system revolutionises tactical awareness and decision making for both club racers and cruising sailors.
Raymarine’s Performance Sailing products are available through Lusty and Blundell’s nationwide network of branches and leading marine dealers.
EYE ON THE BOAT
Raymarine’s new CAM300 mini day-night IP camera is a compact, high definition, fully waterproof camera that transforms an Axiom MFD display into a powerful onboard video observation system.
The new CAM300 is 40% smaller and is a wider field-of-view visible camera than its predecessors. It is also equipped with an HD video sensor that can be used to monitor blind spots or check in on the crew.
The CAM300 can also be combined with an AR200 sensor to enable ClearCruise Augmented Reality, a user experience that overlays AIS targets, waypoints and chart objects directly onto an Axiom high-definition video display.
Rated IP66, the CAM300 is easy to install with either a direct 12-volt connection or a single Power over Ethernet (POE) cable. The reduced footprint means there are more options about where it can be mounted.
The CAM300’s 3MP CMOS sensor ensures up to 1080p resolution with users able to view up to four CAM300 video streams simultaneously on single Axiom display.
Built-in infrared emitters deliver excellent near-field low light visibility up to 10m.
Raymarine’s LightHouse 4 update
Raymarine’s new LightHouse 4.1.75 operating system for Axiom displays and the RVX1000 RealVision 3D module boasts some real advantages for keen Kiwi fishers.
The new software package, which is free for Axiom owners to download, features a number of new enhancements, many targeted at the way New Zealanders go fishing.
“As our aluminium boats have got better and better, more and more Kiwis have been heading further offshore,” says Mark Milburn, managing director of Raymarine’s New Zealand distributor, Lusty and Blundell Ltd. “They have also been installing bigger and more sophisticated electronics packages and fitting multiple battery banks.
“That combination of powerful electronics, close together in a relatively small aluminium boat, and the aeration often encountered in rough water can pose problems for those targeting big fish in offshore conditions. LightHouse 4 improves those issues and provides greatly enhanced, consistently clear, bottom tracking and target acquisition, regardless of the sea state.”
Other enhancements include greatly improved diagnostic sonar recording and an expanded library of species-specific fish icons, making it easy to see at a glance what fish are likely to be caught at fishers’ favourite waypoints.
LightHouse 4.1.75 also boasts expanded NMEA2000 battery monitoring, enabling owners to quickly detect, monitor, and alarm compatible batteries and battery banks on the network and enhanced connectivity with Mercury’s VesselView app, including Skyhook virtual anchoring and fluid level checking.
Raymarine’s new LightHouse 4 operating system is suitable for all Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL MFDs and is now available and free to download using the Axiom’s software update feature or from http://www.raymarine.eu/multifunction-displays/lighthouse3/
POWERFUL OPEN ARRAY RADAR
Cyclone Pro is the latest of Raymarine’s award-winning CHIRP radars. Its additional power, which complements other innovative elements of the Cyclone design, exceeds that of other radars and places it in the professional category.
At only 110 watts, Raymarine’s new Cyclone Pro boasts the same power as a 12kW standard open array radar.
This additional power also ensures that the Cyclone Pro can detect even very weak targets such as spherical navigation and fishing buoys and small or distant flocks of birds.
Using modest amounts of microwave energy, the Cyclone Pro’s power gives owners an extended range. In adverse conditions this increased power enables the Cyclone Pro to clearly identify and display both close range and distant targets.
Cyclone Pro radars employ the latest CHIRP pulse compression and beam-sharpening technology, combined with Raymarine’s unique new RangeFusion™. They are built to withstand up to 100 knots of wind, and thanks to their fast 60rpm rotational speed, can deliver 360-degree awareness and accurate tracking of up to 100 distinct ARPA targets in real-time, even when the vessel is at full speed.
Raymarine’s new Cyclone Pro radars integrate with Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL chartplotter multifunction displays, are backed by Raymarine’s three-year warranty. They are now available through Lusty and Blundell’s nationwide network of marine dealers and at their three showrooms in Albany, Whangarei and Tauranga.
LightHouse 4: easier to operate, personalise
Raymarine’s next generation OS, LightHouse 4 redefines the user experience.
Available free for all Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL MFDs, LightHouse 4’s simplified menus make tapping into the power of Axiom faster and easier while longer, nested pull-up menus are more intuitive to read and operate.
LightHouse apps that integrate control or provide information from marine integration partners like Seakeeper, Victron, Lumishore and a host of others can now be launched directly from the LightHouse Home Screen while key apps are viewable in split-screen configurations. The MOB touch key has been relocated to share prominent space on the Home Screen.
LightHouse 4 also takes integration with Mercury Marine Vessel View to the next level with Active Exhaust Volume control, a new and refined Engine Data Summary page, Mercury on board diagnostics and more.
LightHouse 4 also supports Navionics Platinum+TM charts’ high-resolution bathymetric data and satellite imagery, showing multi-layer control for relief charts, SonarChart shading and sonar chart history, plus router support and multi-zone audio for Rockford Fosgate and JL Audio via YachtSense Link.
Personalising an Axiom MFDs’ look and performance by creating dynamic dashboard tiles to stay informed of real-time instrument and navigation data and add a favourite photo to the Home Screen background.
Raymarine’s LightHouse 4 operating system is free to download using Axiom’s software update feature or from http://www.raymarine.eu/multifunction-displays/lighthouse3/. See it at the Hutchwilco NZ Boat Show.

PLUG & PLAY WITH CZONE
THE LATEST UPDATE to Raymarine’s new LightHouse3 operating system includes the ability to seamlessly integrate CZone digital switching with a much anticipated auto-populate feature.
Digital switching allows owners to greatly simplify the installation of their onboard marine electrical systems with full control from their Raymarine MFD.
Auto-populating takes a simple plug-and-play approach to CZone integration. With an existing config file onboard, the user can choose to build basic circuit pages without needing a dedicated graphics file.
Alternatively, Raymarine’s dedicated graphics tool can be used to build a fully customised user interface that suits the owner’s needs. Add a page hop function and owners can seamlessly transition between bespoke switching pages that transform the switching interface and simplifies onboard electrical and monitoring systems.
