BEP’S NEW ZEALAND-DESIGNED Smart Battery Hub, an intelligent battery management system for vessels running two or more outboards, sterndrives, or inboard engines, picked up the Boating Industry Top Product Award and the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show Local Innovation Award.

Smart Battery Hub (SBH) simplifies battery management with remotely-activated switches and automatic battery charge distribution with Voltage Sensitive Switching (VSS). It has battery parallel functionality and is neatly housed in a waterproof, ignition-protected enclosure.

SBH monitors and transmits individual battery voltages and house bank state of charge to multi-function displays and chart-plotters via NMEA2000. Remote battery switching operates over NMEA2000, CZone network modes, or via wired switches. All automatic switches have manual override. Analogue switch inputs can be assigned to any function on the SBH or to control CZone modes and circuits.

Two additional sensor inputs can monitor and transmit volts, fluid levels, pressures, and temperature via NMEA2000.

The SBH works with 12- or 24-volt systems and carries a five-year warranty. www.bepmarine.com
