Ocean Signal’s new ATB1 Class B+ AIS Transponder provides new levels of safety and security in busy waterways and in adverse conditions.

The ATB1 boasts a powerful 5W output and SOTDMA technology for improved satellite reception and vital global tracking in an emergency. The AIS unit also reports the vessel’s position far more often than lower powered, lower spec transponders – every 15 seconds at vessel speeds between 14 and 23 knots and every 5 seconds over 23 knots.

The ATB1 not only receives and interprets information and messages it receives from other AIS-equipped vessels, it can also relay these to other navigation devices such as chart plotters, laptops or mobiles using the ATB1’s NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000®, USB or WiFi outputs. An LED indicator light shows the ATB1 is providing continuous AIS transmission and delivering optimal performance.

With its sleek, rugged waterproof design, the ATB1’s is quick and simple to install. An external GPS antenna means the vessel’s information (name, call sign, type and dimensions) can be uploaded via mobile phone, tablet or PC.
